Global Perspective - Teaching people about the world in which they work

About Us

Global Perspective’s purpose is to provide a context to a world that has become smaller, yielding more connections to more people and places than ever before.

Knowledge of the world helps us relate to the people from other cultures that work beside us, purchase our products, or affect our lives in countless other ways.  Business is dependent on geography.  It shapes the natural and human resources in which enterprises are born and determines the advantages and disadvantages of one location over the other.

Meet the Instructor

Bob Manning has 15 years of experience teaching World Geography. He has a bachelor degree in Psychology from St. John’s University and a Masters in Teaching from the University of St. Thomas. He is an active member of the Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education based at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Manning has experience creating and conducting customized seminars for multinational corporations.  His seminar, Making Connections, was developed to meet the need of a large U.S. retailer that wanted their employees to see the world from a different perspective and gain the knowledge needed to be global leaders.  He also developed a course for Indian employees of the same organization, which has a large offshore facility in Bangalore, India.

"The course was a comprehensive overview of India and China in the context of globalization and outsourcing. Bob is an interesting speaker and has done his homework on a relevant topic."

Terry Mackin, major retailer software manager
